Before his Memphis Grizzlies thrashed Atlanta on Thursday night, coach Lionel Hollins was asked what his team could do to improve its consistency. He answered with a laugh that it might help to move to the East.
Apparently he has a point. The Grizzlies were in 10th in the West and the Hawks were tied for second in the East, yet Memphis hammered the Hawks in Atlanta. Although they're just 12-10 overall, the Griz have won four times against the East; their lone loss was at Chicago, and they avenged it by beating the Bulls at home.
