Which teams, players, coaches and storylines are getting way too much hype

Call it Newton's law of "emotion:" For every player and team that flies under the radar, there must be another that is generating entirely too much hype. After my Per Diem partner Tom Haberstroh took a look at the NBA's most underrated yesterday, today I get the task of looking at the league's most overrated, including a pair of teams who will be showcased on TNT tonight.

Most overrated Eastern Conference team: New York Knicks


I've written at length about why SCHOENE is so down on the Knicks. In reality, the 37-45 projection is something of a worst-case scenario for New York. I'm expecting something like 45 wins -- which would still be a drop of nine from last year's total of 54. There's actually plenty of precedent for that kind of slide.
