With the NBA trade deadline looming this week, interest in the rumor mill is at a peak. Last year, the deadline dropped with a thud. The best player to change teams was J.J. Redick -- no doubt a solid performer, but he landed on a team with little hope of winning a playoff series.
This year might prove to be more active. However, you can evaluate the merit of some rumors simply on whether they make sense for both teams. Many do not, but they are floated for a variety of nefarious reasons by teams, agents or others.
