Why the Lakers should tank
With L.A. floundering, it should be looking toward the 2014 draft

According to a report from our own Brian Windhorst and Ramona Shelburne, the Lakers and the Cleveland Cavaliers have discussed swapping Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum. The key here: Just half of Bynum's $12 million salary is guaranteed if he's waived by next Tuesday. No deal is considered imminent, but eyeing Bynum's not-fully-guaranteed contract would be a surefire indication that the Lakers are throwing in the towel on a tumultuous season.
It's about time.
