Dwight Howard to Houston proving to be among best acquisitions thus far

We've just passed the quarter mark of the 2013-14 season, giving us roughly 25 games to "judge" some of the offseason transactions that created the rosters in competition today. Some deals were consummated with an eye to the future, but today we're going to take a look at the deals that helped immediately improve their respective teams.

Here's a look at the top offseason moves at the quarter pole of the season.


Howard

Dwight Howard to the Houston Rockets

It's hard to imagine a scenario more favorable than the reality Houston is enjoying with Howard (though perhaps it could have been even better if its pie-in-the-sky plan to play him alongside Omer Asik would have worked). The Rockets are outperforming both offensive and defensive efficiency numbers from last season as a whole, as well as through the first 25 games of the season.
