OAKLAND -- Have the Golden State Warriors emerged from the Dark Ages into the Renaissance? The Warriors are enjoying only their third winning season in 19 years, and after stirring victories in Games 2 and 3, they suddenly they find themselves ahead of the heavily favored Denver Nuggets 2-1 in their Western Conference first-round series. How they went from afterthought to frontrunner is a story of intelligence finally defeating ineptitude. It's a story of a different Oakland team bringing a "Moneyball" approach to the Bay Area.
