LAS VEGAS -- It's NBA playoff time, and that means it's time to take a look at the future-book board and find the best bets.
This is the third installment in my series of NBA betting pieces, as I previously broke down the future-book prices in October when I listed the Thunder (4-1), Bulls (10-1), Lakers (3-1), Spurs (11-1) and Heat (11-5) as potential plays, and again at the All-Star break when I made arguments for the relative long shot Knicks (12-1), Pacers (25-1) and Lakers (13-1).
Though most of those teams look good at those prices, the fliers on the Lakers certainly took a blow with Kobe Bryant's season-ending injury, and the other clunker among the odds was the Bulls at 10-1 (as it was a gamble on Derrick Rose returning, and now they're 50-1). But the whole point of betting futures is trying to predict (or project) what will happen in the future, and sometimes that takes a leap of faith to get a price before everyone else gets on the bandwagon.
While we'll see how those pan out, let's now look at the future board to see if there is any betting value for those who didn't get involved earlier.
