Quietly, the Nuggets have become a legit contender in the West

Two weeks ago, after they'd been dismissed by the Lakers in Los Angeles and embarrassed by the Blazers in Portland, the Denver Nuggets looked like a joke of a No. 2 seed.
But this week, bathed in the take-no-prisoners light of their 113-84 victory over the Hornets in Game 1 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs, and coming off a convincing 15-point follow-up win in Game 2, Denver looks a whole lot different.
