The Mag: Who's Worse? Clippers, Warriors?
The NBA has plenty of bottom-feeders, but only one of them is the lowest form of life. Which one? That's debatable. The Clippers Take The Cake The league's other dregs are either young (Thunder, Grizzlies, Warriors), eyeing cap room in 2010 (Kings) or waiting for a star to return (Wizards). And then there are the LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS. They've got three big-money guys who have yet to take their teams past the second round of the playoffs (Baron Davis, Zach Randolph, Chris Kaman), and that trio is on the books through 2011. Sure, a healthy and motivated BD is a great asset, but this soon-to-be-30-year-old moonlighting filmmaker hasn't looked that part since moving back home. It's funny that thrifty owner Donald Sterling finally began to spend three years ago, and this is what he has to show for it. Look for the vault to be shut again. -- CHRIS BROUSSARD
