Hollinger's Gems: April 13, 2009

1. I was in Portland for Saturday's Nike Hoop Summit game and walked away shocked by the World team's 97-89 win. As bad the World side's guards looked in practice, they actually did a halfway decent job against a quick U.S. squad.

And any advantage the U.S. had in the backcourt was more than offset by how awful their big men were; the World side had 25 offensive boards while the U.S. team grabbed just 13 defensive caroms.
