But the numbers may be too good to be true.ORLANDO, Fla. -- I'm on my way to Miami to watch LeBron James' current team play his next one. At least, that's the latest version of the story that will provide an ongoing media circus until James decides once and for all where he's playing in 2010-11. Notwithstanding Wednesday's oh-please-stop-no mini-protest that he doesn't want to talk about free agency anymore, LeBron's future domicile remains the dominant story hanging over the 2009-10 season. "I don't want to have any more distractions to my teammates, my organization, to myself and my family," said James, who seemed perfectly comfortable to provide grist for said distractions until, oh, Wednesday. He did everything other than wear a Big Apple on his head William Tell-style in his last visit to New York, for instance, and has been more than happy to fan the flames of possibility in other locales too. For all we know he'll arrive in Miami tonight in a Don Johnson getup and spend the pregame media session discussing his love of cigars and mojitos.
