Sixers need to build backcourt
Breaking down Philadelphia's draft profile and potential picks this year
NBA Insiders Amin Elhassan and Bradford Doolittle break down the draft profile, needs and potential picks of the 14 teams eligible for the NBA draft lottery this year. With some help from Chad Ford's Big Board of top 30 prospects, we take a look at the Philadelphia 76ers.
Personnel Needs: Everything
Major need: The Sixers took the term "tabula rasa" a tad far, cleaning house and fielding a roster that, in many respects, more closely resembled a D-League team than it did an NBA roster. They were league worst in scoring (fewer than 97 points per 100 possessions), league worst in true shooting percentage (51 percent) and league worst at taking care of the ball (16 TO%); defensively, things weren't much better, with a bottom-five defense (107.5) and bottom-five ranking at defensive rebounding (72 percent). I could go on about all the other things they were awful at, but you get the point: This team needs talent of any sort.
