Lottery's impact on four franchises

That look on the face of Washington Wizards owner Irene Pollin should be the new logo for the NBA draft lottery because it symbolizes what happens when you throw 14 names in an imaginary pot and draw one out. The thing about the draft lottery is that, by definition, the outcome is always an unlikely surprise … no matter how badly a team does, its odds of having the fourth pick will still be better than its chances of picking in the top three. Whatever combination of top three picks is expected, there are much better odds that it won't happen.
