Summary:
Robert Swift
Robert Swift
Notes: The big man from Bakersfield is committed to USC, but scouts claim that academic issues are pushing him straight into the pros. Had a stellar 17 points, 12 boards and 4 blocked shots in the EA Roundball Classic. Had 10 points and 4 boards in the McDonald's game. He officially etered the draft and is likely to stay in.

Upside: He's quick, relatively athletic and knows how to score and rebound in the paint. He has great hands and footwork for someone his age, plays aggressively and, believe it or not, is a decent passer from the post. Good shot blocker.

Downside: He's pretty raw. Scouts that saw him at a recent tournament were shocked to see him outplayed by a kid five inches shorter. He needs strength, like almost everyone else in the draft.

Insider Projection: Some scouts claim that Swift is the best American center in the draft. Those same scouts believe he is the most under rated high school prospect in the country. His gangly appearance and academic issues create a picture that isn't pretty. But the kid can play. Rumor has it that the Celtics are very high on him and could use their No. 15 pick to grab him. The Jazz, Nuggets and Heat are also fans. Looks like he won't slip past 20 in the draft.
