Today the Detroit Pistons will attempt to move beyond the Larry Brown saga by announcing the hiring of Flip Saunders as their new head coach.

But it won't be easy. After two straight Finals appearances and one NBA title, the Pistons find themselves at another crossroads.

With Brown nearing an engagement with the Knicks and Saunders ready to take over the reins in Detroit, Pistons president Joe Dumars talked to Insider Thursday morning about why the Pistons decided to dismiss Brown and hire Saunders.
