Yankees definitely don't owe Williams a roster spot

I've been reading a lot of stories about Bernie Williams lately. I've been seeing a lot of numbers in these stories. Among all-time Yankees he ranks second in doubles, between Lou Gehrig and Don Mattingly. He ranks fifth in total bases, between Hall of Famers Joe DiMaggio and Yogi Berra. He ranks fourth in hits, between Hall of Famers Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio. He ranks fifth in runs scored, between DiMaggio and (future) Hall of Famer Derek Jeter. Williams and Jeter have something else in common: They're the only Yankees who have played on each of the Yankees' dozen straight postseason teams, and Williams owns many of the postseason records that Jeter doesn't. He's one of only seven players to serve with the Yankees for 16 seasons.

Here's the number that I haven't often seen …
