Pitching carrying Tigers as it did White Sox
I know it's true, because I read it on the InterWeb.
If nothing else, we should know what a team of destiny looks like, because we saw another one just a year ago. Remember the 2005 Chicago White Sox? They swept the Red Sox in their Division Series, lost Game 1 of the ALCS to the Angels, and then won eight straight to wrap up their first world championship since 1917. The Tigers lost the first game of their Division Series, and since have won seven straight to wrap up their first American League pennant since 1984. Both teams hail from the oft-maligned American League Central, and neither was supposed to even get into the playoffs, let alone win a World Series.
