The Rangers' division title was a long time coming, as they've had the game's best farm system the last two years and managed to convert some of that talent into big league results through promotions and trades. They did waltz through a weak division without a serious contender in the second half, and head into the postseason with the worst run differential of any AL playoff team. More importantly, they're pinning their hopes on a return to health by leading hitter Josh Hamilton and the ability of Cliff Lee to throw twice for them if their ALDS goes to a fourth game.
