In hitters' park, Rockies actually succeed because of pitching and defense

When the Rockies were telling everyone "We're not dead" in late May, they were one bonk on the head from being placed on the cart and hauled off for the season. They changed managers, started playing more of their young hitters, caught a little lightning in their rotation and nearly made up a 15-game deficit in the division.
