Scouting the Philadelphia Phillies
Brad Lidge's inability to take the ball in the ninth creates other bullpen holes
On paper, at least, the Phillies have the best playoff roster in the National League, a team with several areas of real strength and only one major weakness: the bullpen. They have a deep, patient lineup, a rotation with two No. 1 starters and one of the best defensive clubs in the postseason. The best team doesn't always win a playoff series -- the Phillies benefited from that last year when they upset the Rays -- but Phillies fans should like their chances to at least reach the World Series again.
