Help Is On The Way

Lance Berkman, 1B, Houston Astros (Triple-A Round Rock)
Sunday's stats: 3-for-4, 2 2B, HR (1), 3 R, 2 RBI, K
While the Astros have finally shown some signs of life lately, with wins in three of their last four games, the offense remains stagnant. Luckily, after arthroscopic knee surgery, their best hitter will be joining them in Houston on Tuesday for a series against Florida. After going hitless on Saturday, Berkman drove a trio of extra-base knocks Sunday, including a sixth-inning blast over the right-center field fence. His addition isn't likely enough to turn the Astros' fortunes around in a major way, but anything to improve upon the overall embarrassment of April is a plus at this point.
