The One You've Been Waiting For
Stephen Strasburg, RHP, Washington Nationals (Double-A Harrisburg)Sunday's stats: 5 IP, 4 H, 4 R (1 ER), 2 BB, 8 K
He gave up two hits and a run before recording his first strikeout, and he fell apart for a bit in the fourth while giving up three runs thanks to some defensive problems behind him. But overall, he was as expected, sitting in the upper 90s with his fastball, showing two clear major league plus pitching in his breaking ball and change, while showcasing the location normally found in a finesse arm. He's a great prospect, but expecting him to throw no-hitters every time out is unrealistic. Make no doubts about it, Sunday afternoon in Altoona was a success in every way.
