Breaking down win probability in remaining matchups sends COL, SD packing

For the first time since 2007, it seems as if no American League teams will need to play a 163rd game -- the Minnesota Twins have clinched, the Texas Rangers have basically clinched and both the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays will be headed to October, one as the AL East champion.

That's obviously not the case in the National League.

There are four teams -- the Atlanta Braves, San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants and Colorado Rockies -- competing for two playoff spots. The final series of the year between San Diego and San Francisco may end up being the most significant NL games played this season.

So, who has the edge in the NL races?
