BTF: Projecting the Dan Haren deal
This one is clear-cut: Angels win big, Arizona loses roughly as big
In a stunner of a trade, the Los Angeles Angels picked up pitcher Dan Haren from the Arizona Diamondbacks Sunday afternoon in return for pitcher Joe Saunders, two minor-league pitchers, and a player to be named later.
While it's still unlikely that the Angels can pick up the six games in the AL West standings necessary to win the division, especially given that the Texas Rangers are the stronger team, picking up Haren is a terrific move that will help the team not just this season, but in the next couple of years as well.
