Insider's series on MLB teams that are out of the playoff race continues with the Seattle Mariners, who gave their fans plenty of late-inning thrills this year (and another 200-hit season from Ichiro Suzuki).

Baseball Prospectus' preseason PECOTA projection: 77-85, third place
Current record: 80-73, third place

The Mariners are 33-18 in one-run games, and 47-55 otherwise. Uh-oh.
