Numbers must carry Todd Helton into the Hall of Fame, and they're misleading
Is Todd Helton bound for the Hall of Fame? Since he is 35 years old and under contract through 2011 while approaching no major milestones, it doesn't seem to be a burning question at present. Still, the first baseman of the resurgent Colorado Rockies is contributing to the wild-card chase with a .323/.400/.505 (batting average/on-base percentage/slugging percentage) showing to date and did become the 50th member of the 500 doubles club. So let's start the discussion now, getting to the elephant in the room right off the bat: Will Helton's HOF candidacy be hurt by his playing a majority of his home games at Coors Field?
