Pitchf/x Summit portends bright future
A look at the technology that's still changing the way we look at baseball
This past weekend, I had the pleasure of traveling to sunny San Francisco to take part in the second annual PITCHf/x Summit, a gathering of analysts, team executives and the brains behind the new technology of MLB.com's Enhanced Gameday, which takes the guesswork out of once immeasurable baseball statistics (pitch location, arm angle, etc.). The ultimate goal of this and other similar congregations is coming up with creative ways to use available information, while simultaneously looking at future innovations and other methods of enhancing the entire system.
