As was noted in the current issue of ESPN The Magazine, Adam Dunn is in range of a unique -- albeit dubious -- record. The Nationals slugger now has 18 home runs on the season, while his team has just 20 wins. If Dunn can out-homer his team's win total, he will be the first player in baseball history to pull off the feat. As it turns out, Dunn isn't the only player on a last-place team who could do something unprecedented, but we'll get to some of those other performances in a moment.
Adam Dunn, Nick Markakis, Adam Jones and Heath Bell are putting up numbers that greatly outshine their cellar-dwelling colleagues.
