In the latest issue of The Mag, Jeff Bradley takes a look at Manny Ramirez through the eyes of those around him.
It's not unusual for a story idea to change from pitch to print.
In my 11 years at The Magazine, I cannot tell you how many times it's happened. You present an idea to your editor and get it approved, only to find out during the reporting process that there's a better, or at least different, story out there.
Usually, the change of angle is quick, a matter of hours, perhaps days. But in the case of Manny Ramirez, the process took almost a whole year.
