When the Braves were in the midst of their playoff run of the 90s and 00s, one thing that could be counted on was their starting pitching. That has changed in recent years and last year saw the Braves starting pitchers post an ugly 4.60 ERA, 11th in the NL. Atlanta used 11 different starters, with only Jair Jurrjens making more than 30 starts, while Tim Hudson suffered an arm injury that will keep him out most of the 2009 season.
