1. Youkilis' fast start
Kevin Youkilis is out-producing his more famous teammates, Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz, so far this season. Youkilis is on pace to smash his single-season highs in every offensive category. Explaining his fast start can be done in two ways. First, we'll look at the lefty-righty split. In his first two full seasons with the Red Sox (2006 and 2007), the right-handed hitting Youkilis was a slightly above-average hitter against both right-handers and left-handers.
