"Play ball!" might be the most transfixing phrase in the English language, but managers and front-office people in Florida and Arizona will spend the next six weeks focusing on a more practical, utilitarian two-word combination.

What if?

Some big-league clubs (such as Oakland and Toronto) enter spring training with few decisions left to make. At other camps, there are lots of comebacks, injury updates and position battles to monitor. And the World Baseball Classic will complicate matters further.
