Wolf was outstanding for the Dodgers for two months, but his performance headed south in June and he ended up having diagnostic shoulder surgery that revealed no structural damage. There's no such thing as "minor" shoulder surgery, but Wolf is expected to be ready for spring training. When healthy, Wolf has an outstanding curveball and a solid-average fastball, with a fringe-average circle-change he uses against righties. He's very good against left-handed hitters; he limited them to a .276 OBP in 2007. He does throw across his body, one risk factor for arm injuries, and there's always a chance that he's no longer a 30-start guy, but in a large crop of good pitchers coming off injuries, he has one of the least worrisome injuries and the highest upside.
