Flawed teams eye trade deadline
Today, all the top teams are flawed (except perhaps the Cards), so every team has needs as the trade deadline approaches.

The trade deadline is 10 days away, and teams are trying to prioritize their needs as they eye the second half of the season.
Today, all of the top major-league teams are flawed, so every team has needs. There are no great major-league teams -- instead, there are good teams with flaws. A franchise doesn't have to assemble an elite team to win the world championship.
The St. Louis Cardinals come the closest to being a great team that could rival the great teams of the past (that's why I've picked them to win the World Series). The Chicago White Sox are the next closest. Not surprisingly, the Cardinals own the best record in the National League, and the White Sox pace the American League with the best record in the majors.
