Three Strikes: Dubious historic plot lines

Elsewhere on this site, my buddy Jerry Crasnick does a great job of summing up the nine second-half plot lines all baseball fans need to watch. But here at Three Strikes, we have a different mission.

It's also time to sum up some of the second-half plot lines that only we useless-informational-type lunatics need to watch. There's some very bizarre history out there, just waiting to be made between now and Halloween. So let's take a look:

STRIKE ONE -- THE 30-30-30 CLUB: It has now been 17 years since the multi-talented Howard Johnson founded a club that doesn't exactly need to rent out Shea Stadium to hold its club meetings.
