Does punting draft picks make sense?

As we have discussed here on several occasions, the 2010 draft class, much like that of a year ago, lacks the depth and elite prospects that previous classes have produced. The 2005 and 2008 classes in particular dwarf the class of '10. It's not that 2010 is a particularly poor group of talent, but compared to deeper collections -- including next spring's class -- they may not be as impactful.
