Game plans for Louisville-Michigan
Our coaches break down key matchups, personnel for Cardinals, Wolverines
Louisville's game plan versus MichiganBy Seth Greenberg
Key personnel for Michigan:
F: Mitch McGary, 6-foot-10, Fr.
McGary is playing as well as anyone left in the tourney. He's a consistent rim runner, has great hands and is a great rebounder -- not just good, but great. And he has a tremendous feel for the game, which is why I've nicknamed him Magic McGary.
Yes, he's technically still a freshman, but he's a 20-year-old freshman who will be 21 in two months. He's played 38 games this season. In other words, this freshman is no longer a freshman. Right now he looks like he might be a lottery pick.
He poses a lot of problems for Gorgui Dieng, who is coming off an uninspired performance against the undersized post players of Wichita State. This matchup will be pivotal.
