Vanderbilt Commodores

2012-13: 16-17 (8-10 SEC)
In-conference offense: 0.98 points per possession (9th)
In-conference defense: 0.98 points allowed per possession (4th)

Give Vanderbilt credit. Even in an off year, you can rely on the Commodores to play Kentucky close at home.

In 2012-13, Kevin Stallings' team suffered through its worst season in a decade. But, even in what was unmistakably a "down" season (this team lost to Marist by 17, for goodness' sake), Vanderbilt once again delivered a great game against UK in Nashville. The Wildcats won 60-58, thanks in part to a Nerlens Noel basket with 17 seconds left that was ruled "unreviewable" even though it appeared to go in after the shot clock expired. The outcome was a disappointment for the Commodores, but it was the fourth consecutive game between the two teams in venerable Memorial Gymnasium that has come down to the final minute.
