Maryland Terrapins

2012-13: 25-13 (8-10 ACC)
In-conference offense: 0.97 points per possession (9th)
In-conference defense: 0.98 points allowed per possession (4th)

Last season, Maryland opened its season with 11 home games, one conference-mandated road game (at Northwestern, for the ACC-Big Ten Challenge) and two contests on neutral floors. If not for a 72-69 opening-game loss to Kentucky at the Barclays Center, the Terrapins would have started the season 14-0 despite the fact that, as ACC play would reveal, this was not in fact a national title contender.
