Coyotes may have to go small to maximize their scoring ability

In-conference offense: 1.10 points per possession (4th)
In-conference defense: 1.13 points per possession (7th)
South Dakota could realistically finish anywhere from third to last in the Summit League this season. Coach Dave Boots has a number of talented players at his disposal, particularly in the backcourt, and how the Coyotes fare will ultimately come down to finding the right rotation among that mix of players. That task becomes more challenging considering that long-time head coach Dave Boots abruptly and unexpectedly retired on September 3, meaning the program will have to take the next step under a new coach with limited time to prepare.
