The Mavericks can score, but they must improve their team defense

In-conference defense: 1.17 points per possession (8th)
Nebraska-Omaha surely made an impression with its blistering pace of play in its first season as a member of the Summit League. The Mavericks averaged a nation-high 73 possessions per game last season, and with above-average accuracy from the field, they put a lot of points on the scoreboard. For UNO to grow into a legitimate competitor, though, it must find a way to prevent its opponents from also lighting it up.
