2012-13: 7-24 (2-16 NEC)
In-conference offense: 0.92 points per possession (12th)
In-conference defense: 1.12 points per possession (12th)
Over the past three seasons Fairleigh Dickinson has won a total of seven games in NEC play. Into this void steps new head coach Greg Herenda. While at UMass Lowell, Herenda made the Division II NCAA tournament four straight seasons. Now he takes on a tougher challenge.
The Knights were the worst team in the NEC in 2012-13. Due to transfers and graduations they return the fewest possession-minutes. The cupboard is bare, and Herenda will get the opportunity to shape the team immediately. The new head coach will need to find depth, because he wants to play fast. Even FDU, which had the No. 5 adjusted tempo in the nation last season, plays slower than Herenda would like. Last season at UMass Lowell his Riverhawks averaged 73 possessions per 40 minutes.
