2013-14 Preview: Denver Pioneers
New to the Summit, Denver can immediately contend for a league title
2012-13: 22-10 (16-2 in the WAC)
In-conference offense: 1.13 points per possession
In-conference defense: 0.90 points per possession
After winning a share of the regular season championship in its first season as a member of the WAC, Denver left to join the Summit League, where it will immediately become one of the top teams in 2013-14. While rising sophomore Royce O'Neale decided to transfer in the offseason, coach Joe Scott welcomes back several key contributors from a squad that posted a plus-0.23 efficiency margin in WAC play last season. The WAC was rated considerably higher than the Summit League by Kenpom.com, so it would not be surprising if the Pioneers posted another large margin of victory against their new competition.
