Jerod Haase brought North Carolina pace to Birmingham in his first season helming UAB, as the Blazers went from one of the conference's slowest teams under Mike Davis to a top-25 ranking in adjusted tempo. Though UAB had its struggles at both ends of the floor, the Blazers were one of C-USA's best teams at forcing turnovers. And Haase's squad finished fairly strong, winning six of seven games late after starting conference play 0-5.
