Charlotte 49ers

2012-13: 21-12 (8-8 A-10)
In-conference offense: .96 points per possession (13th in A-10)
In-conference defense: 1.04 points per possession (10th in A-10)

A founding member of Conference USA, Charlotte returns to the league off the high of its first postseason appearance in five years. Though the 49ers struggled for an extended stretch in conference play after a 15-2 start, their 21-win effort was good enough for a bid to the NIT, where they lost to Providence. Replacing leading scorer Chris Braswell's production inside will be difficult, and the roster looks thin, but point guard Pierria Henry and forward Willie Clayton give coach Alan Major a decent foundation. The 6-foot-4 Henry scores, gets to the line, is an outstanding thief (top 20 nationally in steal percentage), was an all-A-10 defensive team performer and even rebounds well for his position (14 percent of defensive boards). Henry does need to cut down on his turnovers, and he's not an outside shooting threat.
