There's no doubt Dan Monson had a talented group to work with at Long Beach State last year. The winner of a third straight Big West Coach of the Year Award didn't have the path completely laid out from the start, but he coached a roster with plenty of moving parts to its third consecutive regular-season championship. Another league title could win Monson more hardware because Long Beach State enters this season short three starters from last year, including conference player of the year James Ennis, who was drafted in the second round by the Miami Heat. Monson will again be charged with restructuring his rotation after losing the majority of his starting lineup for a second straight year.
