Preview: Lehigh Mountain Hawks
Will Mountain Hawks be able to replace NBA lottery pick C.J. McCollum?
- Streeter Lecka/Getty Images Lehigh guard Mackey McKnight averaged 11.9 points and 5.9 assists per game last season.
2012-13: 21-10 (10-4)
In-conference offense: 1.06 points per possession (3rd)
In-conference defense: 0.94 points allowed per possession (2nd)
Lehigh learned how to play -- and win -- without C.J. McCollum last season, when the all-everything guard was lost to injury after just 12 games. This season the Mountain Hawks must win not only without McCollum, but also without starting forwards Gabe Knutson and Holden Greiner. All three players enjoyed outstanding careers at Lehigh. McCollum will be missed most of all, as the stat sheet-stuffing lead guard has now taken his game to the NBA.
