Preview: Hawaii Warriors
The Warriors must improve on defense to compete in Big West
2012-13: 17-15 (10-8)
In-conference offense: 1.06 points per possession (6th)
In-conference defense: 1.09 points per possession (9th)
Hawaii enters its second season in the Big West after a solid 10-8 debut. German native and Nebraska transfer Christian Standhardinger wasted no time introducing himself to the league, earning first-team all-conference honors for his excellent play on both ends of the floor last season. The senior enters 2013-14 as the focal point of the Warrior offense after posting an offensive rating of 112, good for third in the conference among players who used at least 24 percent of possessions. Standhardinger will once again be the workhorse for head coach Gib Arnold, likely seeing a slight increase in the 75 percent of available minutes he played last season.
