Preview: Army Black Knights
Black Knights have enough talent, experience to compete for championship
2012-13: 16-15 (8-6 Patriot League)
In-conference offense: 1.08 points per possession (2nd)
In-conference defense: 1.02 points allowed per possession (4th)
Army's 2012-13 season was more spectacular than an 8-6 conference record would suggest. The Black Knights hadn't finished above .500 in league play since 1987, and had broken even just twice since Mike Krzyzewski was at West Point. Coach Zach Spiker entered the season with one proven player, Ella Ellis, and a young roster filled with unknowns. Ellis performed beyond expectations, dominating on the offensive end. What transpired with the rest of the team was more shocking.
