EACH SEASON, the notion that there are no longer any great teams in college basketball seems to gain support. The thinking goes that because the best players leave for the NBA after one or two years, they aren't focusing on fundamentals. And based on ESPN Insider analysis for this season, it's getting tougher to argue with that sentiment. One look at basketball's most fundamental category -- scoring -- shows that teams are sliding down.
